Colorado hosts Calgary in Denver on October 31, seeking a fourth straight home win after beating the Flames 7-3 earlier this season.

The Colorado Avalanche welcome the Calgary Flames to Ball Arena in Denver on October 31, with puck drop scheduled for 10 p.m. EDT. Colorado has won its past three home games and is 5-1-1 at home this season; Calgary is 1-4 on the road.

The Avalanche beat the New Jersey Devils 5-2 on Wednesday, while Calgary arrives after a 6-2 victory over Seattle on Friday. The teams last met on October 8, when Colorado won 7-3. Cale Makar scored twice in that game.

Colorado is 7-5-1 overall, and Calgary is 6-7. The Avalanche have scored 3.8 goals per game over their past 10, compared with 3.1 for the Flames; both teams have allowed 3.1 per game over that span.

Colorado will be without defenseman Josh Manson, who is expected to miss about eight weeks with an ankle injury, as well as Zachary L’Heureux. Calgary’s absences include Jonathan Huberdeau, Devin Cooley and Samuel Honzek, while Brennan Othmann is day to day. With Cooley sidelined, Dustin Wolf is Calgary’s primary goaltending option.

The Avalanche’s challenge is to follow their win over New Jersey with another complete performance. Colorado has been inconsistent this season, and the Flames’ six-goal showing Friday provides a test for a defense adjusting to Manson’s absence. Martin Necas leads Colorado with 16 points, while Calgary’s Matvei Gridin has 10.
