The New York Islanders said on November 1 that defenseman Ryan Pulock will miss two to four weeks with an upper-body injury sustained against Minnesota.

Pulock left the Islanders’ October 29 game against the Minnesota Wild after a first-period collision with Blake Coleman. He did not return. The team announced on November 1 that the defenseman is expected to be out for two to four weeks; it has not said whether the injury is connected to the shoulder surgery he had in the offseason.

The 32-year-old had logged an average of almost 19 minutes per game prior to getting hurt. He has one assist and eight shots on goal this season, along with 23 blocked shots.

New York has also been without defenseman Alexander Romanov, who is out for the season with an ACL injury. Calum Ritchie and Matias Maccelli are both listed as unavailable on a week-by-week basis, while Mathew Barzal has been skating on his own and has no announced return date.

Against Edmonton on Saturday, Matt Kessel and Scott Mayfield played together on the third defensive pair. Logan Stanley partnered with Tony DeAngelo, while Matthew Schaefer skated alongside Adam Pelech. The Islanders lost 4-0, and their next game is scheduled for Thursday against Carolina. Isaiah George, who had been recalled from AHL Hamilton, was sent back to the team’s minor-league affiliate on Sunday.
