Four Trade Targets Could Fit the 49ers’ Deadline Needs

The San Francisco 49ers could pursue four less-discussed players before the NFL trade deadline, including edge rusher Jermaine Johnson and receiver Rashod Bateman. Those four options emerged as possibilities on November 3, 2026.
San Francisco may look to add help at the NFL trade deadline, with four possible targets emerging beyond the names more commonly linked to the team. The options address needs at edge rusher, receiver, offensive line and defensive back.
Jermaine Johnson, now with the Tennessee Titans, is in the final year of his rookie contract and is set to become a free agent. He previously played for Robert Saleh with the New York Jets; Saleh is now Tennessee’s coach and acquired Johnson. Despite that connection, contract considerations could make a trade plausible, and Johnson is viewed as a fit for San Francisco’s defense under Raheem Morris.
Baltimore Ravens receiver Rashod Bateman is signed through 2029, but changes to the coaching staff and off-field questions have prompted speculation about his future. Baltimore is 4-4, sits last in its division and Lamar Jackson is expected to miss the remainder of this season. Bateman’s speed could address a gap in the 49ers’ receiving group, potentially at a manageable acquisition cost.
Kansas City Chiefs guard Kingsley Suamataia has been benched twice this season. San Francisco could consider him for its left guard spot, and he could be a starter across the coming two seasons. Kansas City is seeking additions, though, so the 49ers might have to include a player in a deal; Tatum Bethune is mentioned as a possible piece.
Washington Commanders cornerback Amik Robertson, signed through 2027, offers experience both inside and outside. A trade could provide San Francisco cover if Stout remains injured or is hurt again. Washington’s view of its chances in the NFC East could affect whether it is willing to move him.
Players: Lamar Jackson, Amik Robertson, Rashod Bateman, Jermaine Johnson II, Tatum Bethune, Kingsley Suamataia
