Deebo Samuel signals possible 49ers return with workout video

On November 3, injured receiver Deebo Samuel shared footage of himself training at the 49ers’ Santa Clara facility as San Francisco prepared to host the Raiders on Sunday.
Samuel’s workout video offered a sign that he may be nearing a return, though the 49ers had not announced whether he would play against Las Vegas. The 30-year-old has been out since hurting his hamstring in a Week 5 game against Seattle, and the team is expected to make a decision later this week if he is in contention to return.
Before the injury, Samuel had 16 catches for 206 yards and three touchdowns. He also carried the ball nine times for 78 yards. The receiver spent his first six NFL seasons with San Francisco and recorded 1,405 receiving yards in 2021.
San Francisco’s receiving group is dealing with several absences. Mike Evans could miss a second straight game with an Achilles injury, while rookie De’Zhaun Stribling, Ricky Pearsall and Christian Kirk are also unavailable. Stribling has been sidelined since the season opener against the Rams.
Samuel joined Washington after the 49ers traded him following the 2024 season, when San Francisco went 6-11. He had 727 yards and five touchdowns with the Commanders. The 49ers are scheduled to play the Raiders at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday, with kickoff set for 1:25 p.m.
Players: Mike Evans, Christian Kirk, Deebo Samuel Sr., Ricky Pearsall, De'Zhaun Stribling
