Lynch Records First Career Interception in Bears’ Week Eight Win

On November 3, Baylor alumni in the NFL had mixed results across Weeks Seven and Eight, with James Lynch making his first career interception for Chicago.
Lynch’s milestone came in the fourth quarter of the Bears’ Week Eight game in Seattle. Chicago had a bye in Week Seven, and Lynch’s interception was the first of his NFL career and his first at any level during his years at Baylor.
Buffalo linebacker Terrel Bernard also returned from a Week Seven bye with a strong performance. Against Baltimore in Week Eight, he made six tackles and delivered a forceful hit on the Ravens’ quarterback. The Baylor account described it as his best game of the season.
Jacksonville receiver Josh Cameron had a quieter outing against Indianapolis. After the Jaguars’ Week Seven bye, he was targeted once in Week Eight but did not make a catch. He did handle a kick return and a punt return in Jacksonville’s 42-7 victory.
Houston safety Jalen Pitre remained sidelined with a shoulder injury in Week Seven, then had another week without playing while the Texans were on a bye. His status for Week Nine against the winless Los Angeles Chargers was uncertain, with the injury described as more serious than first thought.
Kansas City receiver Tyquan Thornton remained on injured reserve. He was aiming for a possible return at the start of the playoffs, which would give the Chiefs another option at receiver if he is ready to play.
