Saints Open Jordyn Tyson’s Return Window
The New Orleans Saints designated rookie receiver Jordyn Tyson to return from injured reserve on November 4, allowing him to resume practice ahead of Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns.
The Saints took a step toward getting Jordyn Tyson on the field, designating the rookie wide receiver to return from injured reserve on November 4. The move allows him to begin practicing again as New Orleans prepares to face the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, but it does not mean he is cleared to play in that game.
Tyson, whom New Orleans selected eighth overall in the 2026 NFL Draft, hurt his right hamstring while taking part in a shared workout against the Jacksonville Jaguars on August 13. The team initially anticipated an absence of about two months, but his recovery has lasted longer. He had stood out in training camp and was expected to add a deep threat alongside Chris Olave and give quarterback Tyler Shough another option.
The Saints have 21 days to assess Tyson in practice and decide whether to activate him to the 53-man roster. He cannot play until that activation happens, and the team has not ruled out a debut against Cleveland. Tyson may need several practices to regain game readiness. If he returns, he is expected to compete for the No. 2 receiver role, currently held by Devaughn Vele. His return could add another weapon to a New Orleans offense as the NFC South remains open.
Players: Chris Olave, Devaughn Vele, Tyler Shough, Jordyn Tyson
