Mock Draft Sends Georgia Cornerback Ellis Robinson IV to Dallas

On November 4, a 2027 mock draft projected the Dallas Cowboys would select Georgia cornerback Ellis Robinson IV with the 20th pick, acquired from Green Bay.
The projection, published on November 4, has Dallas using its selection at No. 20 to take Robinson, a Georgia Bulldogs cornerback. The Cowboys are expected to have that pick through the Green Bay Packers, while lacking their higher of two first-round selections in the 2027 draft.
The mock draft points to the team’s defensive struggles as the reason for targeting the secondary. Entering Week 9, Dallas had allowed 385.4 yards per game, the NFL’s highest total, and ranked 22nd in pass defense. The team’s defense had also been a concern after a late collapse against Arizona.
Robinson has 15 combined tackles, five passes defended and two interceptions this season. He had four interceptions the previous season. The projection describes him as capable of playing both man and zone coverage, and suggests he could compete to start immediately if Dallas parts ways with former All-Pro cornerback DaRon Bland in the offseason.
The Cowboys have tried to improve their defense with offseason additions, but the unit has continued to struggle. The projection identifies both the draft and free agency as possible avenues for adding help. Robinson’s draft position may continue to rise before the selection is made.
The 2027 NFL Draft is scheduled for April 29 through May 1 at the National Mall outside the U.S. Capitol, located in Washington, D.C.
