Sirianni Says Lurie Still Supports Him as Eagles Endure Six Losses

EaglesGiants

On November 4, Philadelphia coach Nick Sirianni said owner Jeffrey Lurie continues to support him as the Eagles try to halt a six-game losing streak. The team is expected to start Joe Milton at quarterback against the Giants on Sunday.

Sirianni said his relationship and communication with Lurie have stayed steady through both wins and losses. The Eagles are 2-6 and last in the NFC East, after losing 27-10 to Washington on Sunday. Philadelphia led 10-0 in the first quarter but did not score again, as the Commanders finished with 27 unanswered points.

Washington’s defense brought down the quarterback five times, pressured him eight times and stopped plays behind the line nine times. Saquon Barkley gained an average of 2.3 yards on 13 carries, and the Eagles’ longest run was a 15-yard scramble by Tanner McKee. Philadelphia is scoring 17.1 points per game, 30th in the league. Jalen Hurts is out because of lung blood clots, while right tackle Lane Johnson has retired.

Joe Milton is expected to start at home against the Giants on Sunday, replacing McKee. Sirianni had said on Monday that McKee would keep the job. McKee’s completion rate was 63.2%, with 638 passing yards, two scoring throws and two interceptions across three starts. Milton joined Philadelphia from Dallas’ practice squad on October 16; if he starts, he will be the Eagles’ third starting quarterback this season.

The losing streak is Philadelphia’s longest since an eight-game run in 2012. Sirianni made the postseason in each of his first five years, with two Super Bowl trips and a title following the 2024 season.

Players: Lane Johnson, Saquon Barkley, Jalen Hurts, Tanner McKee, Joe Milton III
