Ravens’ Push to Salvage Season Puts Henry Trade in Doubt

The Baltimore Ravens’ efforts to remain in playoff contention have made a trade for running back Derrick Henry less likely, complicating a potential New York Giants pursuit as of November 4.
A possible move by the New York Giants for Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry appears unlikely as the Ravens try to keep their 2026 season alive. The Giants are believed to be seeking a lead running back, and Henry had been viewed as a possible alternative to Indianapolis Colts back Jonathan Taylor.
Baltimore is 4-4 and last in the AFC North, but remains in the playoff race. The team has lost quarterback Lamar Jackson for the season with a thumb injury and backup Tyler Huntley with turf toe. Undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano is set to start against Jacksonville on Thursday night, while the Ravens have acquired veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett, previously with Arizona’s Cardinals, to direct the offense for the rest of the season.
Henry, 32, is under contract through the 2027 season. He spent two seasons playing for Giants coach John Harbaugh in Baltimore and led the NFL with 16 rushing touchdowns in 2024. Taylor, 27, is reportedly under contract through 2028, and the Colts are said to be seeking several draft picks for him.
Harbaugh said the Giants are willing to hear trade offers, but would weigh a player’s fit and cost against the draft capital required. He cautioned that the team does not have many picks to spend and would need to shop carefully. The NFL trade deadline is November 10.
Players: Derrick Henry, Jacoby Brissett, Lamar Jackson, Tyler Huntley, Jonathan Taylor, Joe Fagnano
